Description
The transparent Bird Gel is a sticky non-toxic gel used to keep birds off of horizontal surfaces. The bird gel comes in standard 10 oz caulking tubes, and is applied to horizontal surfaces where birds like to sit like window sills and ledges. Birds cannot stand the sticky sensation on their feet and will move on to a more comfortable landing spot. The bird Gel is non toxic to animals and humans, and is very easy to apply. Bird gel lasts up to 6 months outdoors and will be effective in a wide temperature range, 15 degrees to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Applications
Ideal Spots to use the Transparent Bird Gel are any flat areas that pest birds land.
Apply in a "Zig Zag" patern (seen here) with caulking gun.

Installation
The Transparent bird gel comes in a standard 10 ounce caulking tube.
To apply:
Make sure you are working on a clean and dry surface. If there are bird droppings on the area, make sure they are cleaned away first, along with any dirt, dust, or debris.
You will need a standard caulking gun to apply the product.
We recommend that you apply the product in a zigzag pattern 3 inches high. This will ensure that the surface is amply covered, without having spread the gel over the entire area. Leave one inch gaps around every 5 feet to ensure that water doesn’t dam behind the gel.
Caution:
The bird gel is only to be used on horizontal surfaces, never on a vertical surface for woodpeckers or swallows. If used in this way, the gel can get into the feathers of the bird, reducing their ability to fly. Both woodpeckers and swallows are protected birds under the federal migratory bird act.

Removal:
After around 6 months outdoors, the bird gel will loose its stickiness and begin to harden. To remove, you will need to use a solvent like mineral spirits.
